This gallery lists some 3D animations made with Kinemac. You can watch and download the QuickTime movies exported from Kinemac and download the original Kinemac animation file (.kmc) to play with the Kinemac application. What you see on these movies is what you see on your computer, in real time, at full screen, with Kinemac. Please note that the following QT movies here have been strongly compressed for a better streaming.
Also we recommend to take a look at our tutorials.

  10 Screens
With Kinemac you can play in real time an animation containing many QT movies. Here we used a moving camera and 9 + 1 TV displays within a metal structure playing 9 different QT movies. We copied the metal structure and the TV display from the animation below "Multiscreen". Done in about one hour. Unbelievable.

  Quartz Composition as animated texture
Drag a Quartz Composition file onto a surface of a selected object to apply that QC as texture to that surface. In the sample here aside we have set a QC as Background texture, then we added the same QC to a rotating rectangle and set 4 repetitions. Last we combined the QC texture with another texture onto the surface of the sphere.

  Strip-Film
Draw a path on Kinemac or import it from an SVG file and set its profile to "Strip". Set the width of the strip and drag on it a png file representing a film. Then set this texture as tile with many repetitions such a way you simulate a film. Then drag a movie file onto the strip and set this texture as tile too. Duplicate the path and you are done. If you dowload this animation sample, please replace the movie files with movies with the same ratio width/height.

  Red Earth
That's a nice spot for a TV News program. You can do it in a few minutes. Create a sphere, select it and drag a "world" image file on it. Create a star, rotate it then duplicate it with "Duplicate Multiple". Drag a Quartz Composition onto the Stage holding down the Option key to set it as background and add a scrolling text with your favourite font. Have you ever seen something easier, quicker and nicer than that?

  Metro
We had fun at describing an hypothetical trip by subway in Paris, from La Défense to Château de Vincennes. We made a marker follow a path and stop at two stations... We calculated the the time to go on real time using a "counter" linked to the path. In order to have a high resolution map, we divided it in several rectangles.

  Art on TV
They ask you to make a trailer for the tonight tv program. And it's 4:00 p.m... You launch Kinemac, import a floor picture, type the title of the program, the time, and add a QT movie with a talking head speaking about the contents. Take the scene from 4 different moving cameras... and you give back the trailer at 4:10 p.m.!

  Monoscope
With Kinemac you can create 3D Bezier paths and link the path to any camera (eye or target). The result is that the camera moves smoothly and without discontinuity along your custom 3D path. Furthermore, in this sample you will find a "text counter" showing the current time in seconds. You can link the counter to any parameter of any sprite, e.g. the height of a chart bar to display the bar value dinamically.

  Gym Tonic
You can drag an OBJ file onto the Stage window to import that 3D model into your animation. The movie here aside with 10 OBJ models runs in real time on our G5 dual 2GHz with an ATI Radeon 9800 with 256 VRAM. You can apply an image texture and a QT movie texture onto the OBJ model.
In the next versions we will allow the import of OBJ files splitting groups and materials into different sprites to let you animate each single component of the model.

  Disco (2)
We duplicated 45 times a QT movie regarding people dancing in a disco. We copied the floor from the animation below "Jumping" and added a song made in a while with GarageBand. The result is amazing, and we did everything in half an hour. In this version (2) we have added a 3D woman model and some sprite lights changing color and intensity.

  Automatic Charts
You can quickly create an animated Chart by dragging a ".txt" Tab-Text file. Kinemac automatically creates and animates a chart like the one here aside. The 7 bars represent the rows of the table values. Kinemac will animate the bars, month by month, changing their hight, and showing the relative month label. You can set the bars to cubes, cilynders, tubes... You can apply any color, image texture or movie texture to the objects. You can show/hide/move/rearrange the labels in several ways... In the next release we will add more features to the Charts.

  3D Text
With Kinemac you can quickly create 3D text using any font. You can change the font as easy as you do in a normal text editor: just select the 3D text in the stage window then select the font in the OS Text panel.
You can animate the 3D text as well as any other object on the stage. Creating an animation with 3D characters is a nice game. This QT movie runs at 30 fps and has been rendered with a motion blur effect interpolating 12 original frames.

We duplicated 48 times a TV display with a QuickTime movie texture and on our G5 dual 2GHz (2GB RAM) with an ATI Radeon 9800 XT (256 MB VRAM) this animation did run in real time. Then we added a metal structure, a flying text, a scrolling text and a soundtrack (made in a while with GarageBand). We took the scene from a moving camera and exported the animation to the QuickTime movie you can see clicking on the image here at the left. All before lunch...
